About the Role
I’m a solo business owner running a growing consultancy and am looking for a Part-Time House Manager to fully own the day-to-day responsibilities of my household in Ronkonkoma so we can focus on our careers.
This role is best suited for someone who is proactive, fast-paced, and comfortable taking initiative without being told what to do. Cleaning and cooking are core parts of this role. The goal is for the home to run smoothly and calmly, with minimal involvement from me.
There won't be any childcare responsibilities associated with this position. The household includes adults, pets, and elder support only.
Physical Requirements
This role is hands-on and active. Candidates must be able to lift and carry household items (approximately up to 40 lbs) and be comfortable performing light to moderate handywork, such as basic home fixes, assembling items, changing filters, and small repairs. The role requires moving comfortably throughout a multi-level home and completing physical household tasks.

Schedule & Pay
Approximately 10 hours per week to start
A few set mid-day days during the week
Approximately $20/hour starting rate, with room to grow
Long-term role for the right person
Paid legally as a W-2 household employee
New York State paid sick time accrues per law
Core Responsibilities
Hands-On Household Operations
Maintain guest-ready entryway, living room, and kitchen at all times
Daily and weekly cleaning resets
Fully put away dishes and laundry
Maintain organized cabinets, closets, dressers, and storage areas
Manage household inventory, returns, and restocking
Cooking & Food Management
Grocery ordering
Simple, healthy meal prep for three adults
Kitchen and fridge organization
Pet Care
Pick up pet waste
Clean litter box
Refill food and water bowls
Monitor pet supplies and restock proactively
Must love dogs
Care Coordination (Elder Support)
Schedule and coordinate transportation to doctor appointments
Pick up prescriptions
Refill pill organizers
Coordinate any medication changes with homeowner approval
Coordinate (but do not independently spend) any funds belonging to the homeowner’s mother
Yard, Exterior & Seasonal
Perform routine yard work
Coordinate professional services if needed
Manage pool and hot tub maintenance
Handle holiday decor take-down and seasonal transitions
Autonomy & Systems
Follow and help maintain the household manual
Solve problems independently within clear guidelines
Spend up to $100 per week without approval for household needs
Operate without waiting to be told what to do
Communication Expectations
Contact immediately for emergencies
Avoid interruption during meetings; verbal check-ins are otherwise welcome
Provide updates via shared checklist and daily done list
